Trip to Washington, DC

Are you looking for a perfect vacation getaway? If you feel like driving your own car or going on a flight, here are some of my must-see travel spots in Washington DC.

So, let’s get started:

  1. Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History

“Nature Museum – A must stop in DC and it’s free”

It’s an awesome museum and another one of those must see when visiting DC. You will truly enjoy it!

Once in the museum, you would realize that it contains something for everyone. I would allow at least 3 to 4 hours for a visit as the museum entails exhibits for the water, mammals, dinosaurs, birds, minerals, and live animals. The dinosaur bones section was my favourite and a must see! But there are several sections which were equally good.

Overall, we had a great time! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED – for a great few hours!

2. Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum

“National Air and Space Museum – A highlight of my DC trip and free entrance!”

It’s an awesome museum and a must see when visiting DC. You will truly enjoy it! First of all, the building is huge. It holds the largest collection of historic aircraft and spacecraft in the world.

This museum is for all the aerospace lovers as it showcases and carries an enormous aircraft collections and all things relating to space. I would allow at least 3 to 4 hours for a visit as the museum entails exhibits for various eras and themes.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED – for a great few hours!

3. Arlington National Cemetery

Stars are meaningless at this location. Great place to experience American history. It’s quite a big area so be ready to walk and make sure you wear comfortable shoes.

4. United States Capitol

It was great to visit the Capitol building. It on a hill! So if you are walking from the museum area make sure to wear comfy shoes as the walk is going to be very long.

If you watch a lot of movies then you have to see The Capitol and The White House as all the aliens, monsters…you name it come land there. Not to be missed.

5. The White House

Well, when you are in DC you have to checkout the place where many Hollywood movies are filmed.

I was told if you are a citizen you need to book in advance to get in to see it. Or else you are like all other tourist where you get a distant far away view from the park across.

Snap a picture and move on to the other things, many monuments are nearby too. There are different and quite a few eateries around the area. Make sure you try “Custom Fuel Pizza” highly recommended.

Kapish!
