A perfect vacation getaway! I have been to Seattle a couple times as it’s one of my favourite destinations to travel in US. Here are some of my must-see travel spots in Seattle:
- Pike Place Fish Market
Once in Seattle, you have to see their landmark because it’s a must-see stop. You can find the 1st Starbucks, Ghost Alley Espresso, Pike Place Market Gum Wall and Pike Place Fish Market (where the Fish Philosophy was born).
Pike Place Fish Market… the birth of Fish Philosophy! This here is one of the major attractions in Seattle. Lots of fresh sea food on display, this surely makes you feel like you’re on the coast side.
The market is great to walk around and check out local stuff and eat different things along the way. Walk around, take some good snaps, try some good food and make sure to check out Pike Place Fish Co. guys, they really put on a show when someone buys a fish from them. There is so much to see that you will have to come here more than once.
2. Fremont Troll
~ Awesome Stop ~
WOW middle of nowhere, under a bridge this Troll is watching us. It was great to check it out and the statue was huge.
It’s a quick stop to take some snaps. The only pet peeve I had were some kids were vandalizing the Statue, hopefully the city takes some measures to stop that.
3. Vladimir Lenin
I was surprised to see Vladimir Lenin made it to States. Not just any size, its huge 20ft statue. There’s an informational plaque next to him that describes the staue’s journey from the former Soviet Union to Seattle.
Looks like it’s an iconic neighborhood thing in Seattle. You have to stop and see.
4. Post Alley Gum Wall
When in Seattle, how can you miss an alley with gum everywhere… Gum on the right, Gum on left, Gum hanging right to left!
Great place to take some great weird shots and enjoy some quality time and make sure to take gum with you when making your way down there so you can say my gum is stitching there too!
5. Gas Works Park
It was a great park to visit as it was a little different. Here you can see the historical industry has been reclaimed by nature.
You also get a great view on Seattle’s Skyline while you watch boats, ducks, kayaks and birds passing by. It’s a great place to enjoy, relax and take some deep breaths.
6. The 1st Starbucks
This is it!!! The 1st Starbucks – check. Now I need to make my way to first Tims in Hamilton, ON.
I would suggest to only take some pictures here and get your coffee from somewhere else. There are plenty of good local coffee shops or many Starbucks around. The line up here to get coffee stretches down the block, but if you have to buy exclusive stuff; then you will have to wait and line up.
Enjoy!
7. The Center of the Universe
This was so cool… An iconic sign and then you can finally check in at the Center of the Universe…lol fake but very cool!
Since the early 1970s some Fremont residents have been referring to their neighborhood as “The Center of the Universe”. Hence, this sign is in existence.
8. Olympic Sculpture Park
It’s a good park to take a stroll and enjoy some quite time sitting down having lunch on a good day. The views are good and there are some art sculptures to see as you walk around.
9. Space Needle
Once in Seattle, you have to see their landmark as it’s a must-see stop. It’s a little pricey if you are paying for multiple people but on a good weather day, you can enjoy the surroundings on the ground.
10. Seattle Public Library – Central Library
Came across this library while walking around Seattle. The thing which caught our eye was the architecture design and we just went in to admire the architecture.
This library is huge and awesome. It’s spread out into multiple floors and it’s very energizing if you are studying here. Make sure to check out each floor.
