There are fragrance events, and then there are experiences that completely change the way you see a brand. My recent visit to the exclusive INITIO Parfums Privés meet and greet at Holt Renfrew Square One was exactly that.
Originally planned as a sensorial masterclass, the event evolved into an intimate meet and greet with Regional Sales Manager Danny Aguilar, creating a more personal opportunity to discover the artistry, philosophy and emotion behind one of the most captivating luxury fragrance houses in the world.
As someone who has experienced countless fragrance launches and brand events over the years, I can honestly say this was one of the most memorable.
Discovering the World of INITIO
From the moment we stepped into the immersive INITIO pop up, it was clear this wasn’t simply about smelling perfumes. It was about understanding fragrance on a much deeper level.
Danny’s passion for the brand was infectious. Every fragrance had a purpose, every ingredient carried emotion, and every composition was designed to evoke a feeling rather than simply smell beautiful.
Hearing the inspiration behind the collections, learning why certain raw materials were selected, and discovering how fragrance can influence mood and emotion completely transformed the way I experience INITIO today.
A Fragrance Journey Through the Collection
One of the highlights of the afternoon was exploring such an incredible selection of INITIO creations.

Each fragrance offered its own personality, from comforting musks and luminous florals to addictive gourmands and powerful oud compositions. It became very clear why INITIO has such a devoted following among fragrance lovers around the world.
The Art of Layering
One of the most fascinating parts of the experience was learning how INITIO fragrances can be layered to create completely new olfactory experiences.
Danny introduced us to combinations that elevated already exceptional fragrances into something even more personal.
One standout pairing combined Oud for Greatness with Rehab, creating an incredibly rich composition that balanced depth with vibrant energy.
Another unforgettable combination layered Wild Rush with Musk Therapy. The fresh aromatic brightness of Wild Rush blended effortlessly with the soft, comforting musk, resulting in a fragrance that felt clean, modern and surprisingly addictive.
These combinations demonstrated that fragrance is more than a finished product. It is an evolving form of self expression.
More Than Perfume
What impressed me most was how INITIO approaches fragrance.
Rather than simply creating beautiful scents, the house explores emotion, neuroscience and the relationship between fragrance and human experience. Their newest SUPERCHARGED collection, featuring Wild Rush and Sugar Blast, continues this philosophy by focusing on joy and emotional wellbeing through scent.
That deeper purpose makes every fragrance feel intentional.
An Afternoon to Remember
Meeting Danny added an entirely different dimension to the experience. His knowledge, warmth and genuine enthusiasm made every conversation engaging and inspiring. You could immediately tell he doesn’t simply represent the brand. He truly lives it.
Events like these remind me why I love the fragrance industry so much. They bring together craftsmanship, storytelling, artistry and community in a way that few other experiences can.
I left with a renewed appreciation for INITIO Parfums Privés and a growing list of favourites that I can’t wait to wear and explore even more.
